afd-sega The RSIE 3 project follows on from two previous phases (2008-2013 and 2013-2017), also financed by AFD, which enabled the establishment of a regional surveillance system to help Member States better anticipate and manage health risks.

Phase 2 of the project focused in particular on bringing human and animal health closer together, as part of the One Health approach promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The third phase of the RSIE project aims to strengthen regional epidemiological surveillance networks in order to improve public health.

Project objectives :

  • Strengthen and perpetuate the SEGA-One Health network, institutionalized on March 1 2017 by the Charter signed by the members of the IOC Council of ministers
  • Consolidate and develop the activities of the SEGA – One Health Network.
